Gretel Grey is 12 years old. She lives very safely - she is homeschooled, wears full protective gear outside the house and has no friends. But in a hilarious misunderstanding, she is dropped off at Stunt Camp for three weeks.

Stunt camp leaders Rocket and Flame encourage and support Gretel, while the other stunt kids welcome her into the group. There are lots of lovely messages here about handling anxiety, embracing differences, being yourself, making friends and taking some risks.

Then the stunt kids have to use what they've learnt (both stunt-wise and about each other's strengths and weaknesses) while thinking and acting quickly to thwart a bad guy. The story moves along fast with intense action scenes, crazy stunts, and heaps of twists and turns. The friendship and bond between the kids strengthens as they rely on each other.

This book is a ridiculous amount of fun. It has short chapters and is easy to read - there's lots of engaging dialogue and no long explanations or scene setting. It's warm hearted, funny and optimistic and will appeal equally to middle grade boys and girls.
